The only truly immoral aspect of the slavery of Negroes in America concerned the trading, selling and buying of human beings and the possible break-up of Negro families. This then, as today, was morally wrong but the America of 1800 practiced only a small fraction of outright Negro slavery as did the British colonies in the Caribbean. And in America there were not solely White slave holders. Some were Native Americans and many were freed Negroes themselves. The Southern slave holding states were not settled by Puritans or even native born Englishmen. These states were offspring of British slave holding colonies of the Bahamas. Many settlers had never set foot in England.
As relates to the existence, treatment and welfare of the Negro slaves, one must first recognize the extremely low intelligence of the then West African Negro. Some of the male Negroes were hardly above the mentality of a beast of burden. The low intelligence and the lack of civil discipline of the average Negro slave permitted no other treatment than that of the actions of the times. A large part of the institution of slavery and the later practice of racial segregation were not to chain the Negroes but to assure the safety of the White populations. The most solid defense of these racial practices and the proof of Negro threat lay in the violent, backward African civilizations from which they came. For example, nowhere in Black Africa did any Negro culture
conceive or produce the "sail" or developed any maritime commerce or exploration even with oceans on both sides. There is no proof that the Negro ever had any conception of the "wheel".
Arnold Toynbee summed this up neatly, "It will be seen that when we classify mankind by color the only one of the primary races, given by this classification, which has not made a creative contribution to any one of our twenty-one civilizations is the Black race". This classification was by color, there is no "Black" race. The American Negro of the slavery era was West African Congoid which included the Sudanese, Forest, Negrito and Bantu black-skinned people. Most all were captured into slavery by other black-skinned people or Arab marauder slave traders.
Progressive culture or racial advancement cannot be ignited or established from non-flammable tinder. No degree of advanced or evolved culture can occur if the innate spark is not present. The pure Negro has not been "culturally deprived" by slavery or by segregation or by "racism" because a race cannot be deprived of something it is incapable of possessing. The validity lies in the observation of free Negroes in Africa, Haiti, and the urban ghettos of any western city. The American Negro has been offered countless cases of opportunity only to be forfeited and mandated advantages only to be lost.
In any honest evaluation or comparison of races, one must only refer to the averages of each race and not the ploy of comparing the best of one race to the worse of another. There are "the exceptional Negroes" that tend to be held up as examples of racial equality but these individuals are far above the average Negro and are not typical in any way. And even comparing averages within Negroes, one must be mindful that the present day American Negro is 20% of White blood. Whereas the average Negro during the height of slavery was 100% Congoid; there was no creature as dense as the Southern Negro field hand. Therefore no form of governance other than a paternal ownership and firm hand would suffice for both the protection of the White population and for the well-being of the Black workers.
A culture is the product of the innate capacity of the race which created it. This culture can be later shared in a parasitic way by races of less innate abilities but the original culture can never be advanced nor sustained by such lesser capacity races. As latent abilities in sports, dancing or singing are not stalwarts of a culture, it is fair to assert that the American Negro has not contributed to the American culture in any meaningful way.
By the time of the 1960s civil rights movements, the average I.Q.s of the then Negroes were from 15 to 20 points below those of average American Whites. Six times as many Negroes fell below 70 I.Q. which is considered as feeble minded. On the contrary, six times as many Whites fell into the "gifted child" category. The Negro lag was greatest in testing of an abstract nature; like problems involving reasoning, deduction and comprehension. These are the very functions required in education above the lowest levels and these are the very functions lacking in the desegregated public schools of 2014. These were the very lacking functions that were known but purposefully hidden from the gullible American public in order to force integrated public schools down their throats.
The goal of the abolitionists prior to the War between the States was to abolish slavery as an institution. In no way was this construed to indicate that the Negro was believed to be acceptable in White society. From Abraham Lincoln down to New England abolitionists it was deemed obvious that the Africans be returned to Africa and such movements took place.
